About 100 youth participate in raising sheep. There is a lot to learn about raising sheep, shearing, and using wool.
4-H Members will learn:
  • ...how to select sheep which fit the needs of the member and the family.
  • ...how to feed, care, and protect project animals.
  • ...fit and show procedures.
  • ...sheep knowledge throught partipation in events such as Sheep Bowl and Livestock Judging events.


4-H Members can be resources for:
  • Breeders
  • Shearers
  • Shows

Some 4-H Sheep Project Guidelines include:
  • Members must have a project animal and be caring for that animal by June 1st to participate in the Evergreen State Fair.
  • Members are trained and encouraged to give a demonstration or presentation as well as make an educational poster.
  • Members are encouraged to attend and/or participate in county workshop days throughout the 4-H year.
  • Members are also encouraged to participate at fairs, the Jr. Livestock Show and Sale in June at the Marysville Auction Yard, and countywide events.
