The Snohomish County Shooting Sports Program offers training in shooting skills, physical fitness, and leadership. Youth, ages 8 to 19, aquire knowledge and skills necessary for smallbore(.22) rifle shooting and archery. While learning safe and accurate use of target rifles and bows, shooting sports members develop physically, improving their controlled breathing and body coordination. For those who enjoy competition, local matches and postals, state matches and championships, even regional and national competitions are available. Coaches with many years of experience offer training, safety management, and competitive opportunities. In the 4-H Riflery Program, target quality .22 rifles and ammunition are available to the members for practice and competition. Members must be in the 3rd grade and have reached their 8th birthday by January 1st of the current 4-H year to be eligible for enrollment in projects using firearms.
