The objective of the 4-H Veterinary Science Program is to introduce the fundamentals of animal health, and the broad scope of the many fields of veterinary medicine. Members of the 4-H Veterinary Science program are often enrolled in other 4-H animal projects.
Beginning members learn to recognize the normal animal, its structure, function and appearance, in contrast to the abnormal and sick animal.
More advanced members broaden their knowledge of veterinary medicine, animal health, and their relationship in our world.
Older members explore the interrelationship of animal health, well-being, and safety as well as investigating possible careers in veterinary medicine or related fields.
