Forestry Education Events

We offer a variety of forestry education events throughout the year, including shortcourses, field days, and workshops. Below is a list of upcoming events in chronological order starting with the soonest.
- 2008 Fall Education Series
- WSU Extension presents the 2008 Fall Education Series. This fall's series will focus on protecting your forest. A Forestland Safety and Security Workshop will be held Monday October 6th and a Wildland Fire Ecology and Prevention workshop will be held Monday October 20th. You can register for either workshop individually or get a discount by registering for both. There is also an early-bird registration discount that ends September 15th. - Ties to the Land
- This award-winning succession planning workshop is coming to the North Sound area. This two-part workshop will be held on November 20th and December 11th in Everett. Details and Registration Information.
- Advanced Forest Stewardship Coached Planning
- **Both this class and the spring overflow class are now full. It will be offered again in the future.** You asked and we listened! The first ever "advanced" coached planning series will be offered this fall. This 6-week shortcourse, available exclusively to those who have already completed the regular coached planning class, will be held Tuesday evenings September 23rd - October 28th in Everett with one Saturday field day and three optional Wednesday evening computer labs. Topics will include advanced forest health, advanced wildlife, advanced silviculture, invasive species, inventory, and others. Coached Planning Alumni from all counties are welcome to attend this course. Details and Registration Information.
- Winter 2009 Forest Stewardship Coached Planning Class
- The next regular Coached Planning class will be held Tuesday evenings February 24th - April 21st, 2009 in Everett. Details and registration information.

8/19/2008 – The fall advanced coached planning class is full. The waiting list for the overflow spring class is now also full. We WILL continue to offer this class annually, though! To get the first announcements of these class offerings, make sure you are subscribed to our e-newsletter.
