Serving forest and small woodland owners in the North Puget Sound Area

Snohomish County, Skagit County, King County, Whidbey Island, and Whatcom County

About us

The Puget Sound Forest Stewardship Program is part of Washington State University Extension. Our mission is to provide objective, research-based information and resources to forest and woodland owners in the North Puget Sound Area. This program serves Snohomish, Skagit, King, Island, and Whatcom County. WSU Extension has additional forestry programs that serve other parts of the state.

We offer a variety of forestry classes, publications, and online resources that are applicable to small wooded acreages as well as larger tree farms. Whether your objectives are a healthy forest, wildlife, timber production, the beauty and aesthetics of a natural area, or some combination thereof, we have research-based answers to help you get the most out of your property. Sign up for a class, browse our online resources, or join us for a walk in the woods. We want to partner with you in the stewardship of our natural resources for present and future generations.
