Helping You Put Knowledge To WorkMASTER GARDENER VOLUNTEER PROGRAMThe Washington State University Master Gardener program grew out of the need for county agents to respond to the growing interest in home gardening. Several county agents in Washington State trained the first Master Gardeners in the nation over 30 years ago. Today the program operates with trained volunteers working in communities, teaching good gardening practices. There are about 300 Master Gardeners in Snohomish County. Each year a new class of volunteers is trained. If you are interested in becoming a WSU Master Gardener in Snohomish County, applications are available at this site and at the Extension office summer/fall for training the following year. The 2008 class is full but you can look at the Master Gardener Brochure explaining the program and requirements in preparation for next year.
