The Expanded Family and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)helps limited income families with young children learn how to budget their food dollars, make nutritious low-cost meals, and help children develop good eating habits. Participants also find out how to keep their food safe to eat. Nutrition Education Assistants meet with small groups to conduct weekly sessions. Programs with youth are conducted with agencies which includes the Boys and Girls Clubs, Campfire, and other after-school programs.

Enjoy Local Produce
Shopping at a farmers market can be fun, but also good for you and your community! Some of the many reasons include:
- The freshest foods are available, and fresh means better health for you.
- You can meet the farmer who grew your food and they can tell you the best ways to prepare the produce you just bought.
- You can save money, especially on organic produce.
- Farmers markets provide a livelihood for many farmers who otherwise might not be farming.
For information on locations of farmers markets go to www.nutrition.wsu.edu and click on Farmers Market Nutrition Program - then market locations. At that website you can also find brochures on produce, recipes, and farmers market shopping tips. The markets listed on this site accept WIC and Senior Farmers Market vouchers. For all other markets go to WA State Farmers Market Association web page.
